Yama, Niyama, and a place for Ganesha and Ganga

Hello to all,

My love  for  Natural law, Hindu-Dharma is  so deep, I wanted to express  this  through craft.
This table  is made  by our  daughter,  now  all converted into a  small  place [seat] for  Ganesha.

This easel we got  from Hobby Lobby
with : Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha {my own stamp set}

Here with Yama & Niyama:
{my own stamp set}

This  is how  I wanted  to place  it in our  kitchen.
The quote:
"Prayer is the key to heaven, but FAITH unlocked the  door"
we got  from a  friend, so I  just added to this.

 The  display.

Having this were we walk  each and every day so many times, reminds the  kids about all they see, and it helps them not only grow into these thoughts, but these fundamentals gets absorbed by their awareness/ mind.

I love crafting Vedic thoughts. It makes me strong in my own faith. And respect other's Faith as well.
It helps me  see how  great the  Creator is.
I feel  Grateful having finished this, and  I know the feeling of this contentment ... when our  kids  walk by  this setting, they do  stop and look, and I know it does strengthen them.

Have a  blessed day.

Happy Diwali to all of you

Hello friends,
Some facts about Diwali, I wanted to share:
The first day of Diwali is called Dhanvantari Triodasi or Dhanwantari Triodasi also called Dhan Theras. The second day of Diwali is called Narak Chaturdasi. It is the fourteenth lunar day (thithi) of the dark forthnight of the month of Kartik and the eve of Diwali. On this day Lord Krishna destroyed the demon Narakasur and made the world free from fear. The third day of Diwali is the actual Diwali. This is the day when worship for Mother Lakshmi is performed. On the fourth day of Diwali, Goverdhan Pooja is performed. The fifth day of the diwali is called Bhratri Dooj. It is a day dedicated to sisters.
In Sikh perspective, Diwali is celebrated as the return of the sixth Guru, Guru Hargobind Ji from the captivity of the city, Gwalior. To commemorate his undying love for Sikhism, the towns people lit the way to, Harmandhir Sahib (referred to as the Golden Temple), in his honour.

WISHING ALL OF YOU A VERY HAPPY DIWALI AND A PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR. MAY LORD GANESHA SHOWERS ALL HIS BLESSINGS...!

Dharma

Dharma. It comes from the Sanskrit dhri, which means “to support, hold up or bear.”

We all have our own “dharma” or purpose and reason for being alive. As Krishna states in the Gita, following someone else’s dharma is dangerous. If you live your life trying to impress others and not fulfilling what you’re here to do, you’ll feel the pain.

Whenever virtue declines and unrighteousness rises, I manifest Myself as an embodied being. To protect the Saints and Sages, to destroy the evil-doers and to establish Dharma(righteousness), I am born from age to age.
-Bhagavad Gita 4.7 and 4.8

In order for an individual to realize their supreme Self, they need to identify the reasons and objectives why they came into being on this earth plane, and fulfill them. The ancient seers clearly articulated the objectives of humankind as "Purusharthas" -- 'Purusha' means an individual or person, and 'Artha' means meaning or objective or pursuit. They articulated four Purusharthas as:
Dharma: Righteousness/ Duty
Artha: Wealth
Kama: Pleasure in life/ Desire
Moksha: Liberation
There is so much more to write about these.
i made  this for a good friend of mine. She is  just that Symbol!
A good idea to  play with kids, or just an art to display it in your home.
Kids love to ask  questions. When they see, they ask.

HOLI

Spring is nature's way of saying, "Let's party!"

Good morning!!

Holi, a colorful celebration soon when Spring marches in!

Spring is when Mother Nature express Herself through the buds, blooms, blossoms, gorgeous flowers,
color!
Holi is the time  where we all have these expressions... with our loved ones. This celebration  does have a beautiful meaning, life is seen  color-ful {Never BLACK & WHITE}!

I thought it was fun doing  some crafty- home decor, so much in these, these days!
This way I could  show, teach, or perhaps just have fun with my kids. I hear you: Craft and culture, yes  it was.
So we ran to the lumber, got our wood, letters(circut-cut) from the local store, added  blings & ribbon. I kept it simple, still a bit  Indian:))
Here it is what  I came  up with:
